CADCAM software toolmaker business by 40%
The extra productivity made possible with the latest CADCAM software has led to a 40% increase in business at one of the leading toolmakers for the Indian rubber industry.
The extra productivity made possible with Delcam's Power Solution CADCAM software has led to a 40% increase in business at Edizi Gauge and Tools, one of the leading toolmakers for the Indian rubber industry. This is the latest stage in the company's progress since it was formed by proprietor Mr Manoharan in Bangalore in 1987 with one lathe and two staff. Edizi now has 20 employees and includes among its customers leading Indian manufacturers like TVS, as well as clients in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Edizi acquired its first CNC machine in 1997.
Initially, this was fed with programs from a 'bundled' CAM package.
Various projects were executed successfully but, when a second new CNC machine was added, Manoharan felt the need to invest in a more powerful CADCAM system.
He evaluated a number of systems together with CADCAM Engineer Srinivasan Kannan, including Delcam's PowerSHAPE CAD software and PowerMILL CAM system.
On the decision to select Delcam's Power Solution software Kannan said, 'We evaluated a lot of systems but most of them failed to perform in at least one area of our work.
Some of the suppliers did not even come back with the results of a benchmark we set.' 'PowerMILL's speed in toolpath generation is a must when we have so many jobs and we require constant loading on the two machines,' he added.
'The ease of use and the flexibility in the machining strategies also made the choice much easier for us.' Despite these technical advantages, he admitted, 'Knowing that local support would be available from Delcam India at all times was the most important factor of our decision to go with the Delcam software.' Manoharan, who throughout his company's history has been a firm believer in quality, added, 'The finishing quality is excellent as is the toolpath processing speed.
With the Delcam software, I can assure my customers worldwide that we can give them the highest quality in the shortest time; things that Edizi believes in and aims to deliver without fail.' Manoharan estimated that a 40% increase in business had been achieved after he invested in Delcam's CADCAM software and his new machines.
'We have successfully executed projects which have been refused by other Asian toolrooms because of their complexity and delivery time requirements,' he claimed.
