Path planning software eliminates clashes

Kineo CAM has announced the Release of Kineo Path Planner 2.03, its 'Automatic Path Planning' solution. KPP 2.03 implements the latest release of KineoWorks path planning library and adds a comprehensive set of new features, all of which directly coming from requests/ wishes of the KPP users. Among the improvements: A Path Editor: the user can create, modify and enrich a path A Clash Analyser: Clash Analysis is a widely used process to ensure that parts in a particular assembly or sub-assembly are compatible and non-redundant.

Clashes can arise because, typically, designers work on different parts in isolation, and each time a part undergoes a change, it must be checked for clashes across as many products and product variants (configurations) with which the part is associated.

Nevertheless Clash Analysis are today in most cases performed in a static manner, only taking into account the part in the fixed position within the assembly.

On the contrary, using the new feature 'Clash Analyser' directly within Kineo Path Planner enables to apply Clash Analysis on a moving system at different positions of the path necessary to insert or remove the part from the assembly.

For instance, in a case where inserting or extracting a part proves to be not feasible because of the surrounding items with close proximity to the moving part, Kineo Path Planner users might require to identify and document the bottlenecks for a precise communication of the required design changes at different positions of the moving part along the insertion or removal path.
