Expanded european hosting options
SonicWALL, a leading provider of network, Web, email security and backup and recovery solutions, has announced that it has reached agreement with Easynet, the leading pan-European broadband networking company, to provide reliable, secure, high-performance offsite data backup services as part of the SonicWALL CDP Backup and Recovery solution set. The deployment is based on Easynet's network of hosting and co-location data centre facilities across ten European countries in 250 cities providing small- and medium-sized organisations the ability to backup and recover their data both locally and offsite. SonicWALL Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is changing the way organisations protect their businesses by providing a comprehensive backup and recovery solution in a single appliance.
With features such as instant data recovery, central/remote administration, bare metal recovery and offsite storage, SonicWALL CDP has been hailed by IT administrators worldwide as a solution that enables them to focus on their users and customers rather than on backup issues.
By offering continuous backup, as well as the added peace of mind of offsite storage and recovery, SonicWALL CDP provides a solution that makes it easy for customers or their resellers to protect and recover data.
Through the Easynet relationship, data from SonicWALL's European CDP customers can be sent seamlessly from the customer's site to a secure Easynet facility.
Customers have immediate and direct access to their offsite backup data through Easynet, rather than having to wait days or weeks to retrieve data from complicated tape-based systems.
This direct data access helps businesses reduce downtime after a disaster and improve performance levels.
'Easynet enables SonicWALL customers to store valuable information offsite by allowing them to exploit the performance benefits of direct connection to a powerful network of secure data centres,' said Joep Lecluse, Group Product Director Easynet.
'Offsite data storage is becoming a strategic element in the operations of organisations and their business continuity planning, and improves performance for IT administrators by enabling data to pass directly from the customer site to the Easynet network without intermediary intervention or bottlenecks'.
'People never think anything will happen to their data, but something as common as a network virus, a broken water pipe or a fire can destroy a business within minutes,' said Steve Goodman, VP Business Continuity for SonicWALL.
'Easynet's industry-leading data centre environments provide SonicWALL CDP customers in Europe with a secure and redundant backup of their most valuable information so business operations can continue uninterrupted'.
Easynet facilities include power operations that are uninterrupted even in the event of a utility power disruption through redundant power feeds from the national energy power grid and UPS (battery) system to accommodate for transients while switching over to generated power from the Easynet on-site power plants.
Security features include 24 x 7 on site security guards and various anti intrusion measures and detection systems.
